What to See in Sanremo

Sanremo

Sanremo has two souls, one ancient and one modern. The first one is the ancient heart of the city, known as the Pigna, the medieval sector founded in the year One Thousand, with its houses facing steep alleys and the squares. The modern part, with the elegant Corso Matteotti, the heart of shopping, the Casino and the Ariston Theater, home of the Italian Song Festival.
The Regina Elena gardens, dedicated to the last Queen of Montenegro, are found at the steps of the road that leads to the Madonna della Costa Sanctuary. From the lookout point you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the old town of Sanremo and of the gulf. The Russian Orthodox Church reminds us, for its style, Saint Basil Cathedral in Moscow.
